Dura Automotive Named Best in British Manufacturing
We read in the newspaper that in a post Brexit UK, encouraging a robust and healthy manufacturing sector will be fundamental to our economic success. It is therefore reassuring to note that The Manufacturer and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers have been doing exactly that for the last ten years. The announcement of the winners of the annual The Manufacturer MX Awards is much anticipated by those entered and the honours hard won. The gala dinner on 2 November was the culmination of an intense four-month judging period, where the more than 40 hand-picked, experienced judges, collectively travelled over 10,000 miles in order to benchmark sites across the UK.
Held at the new Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham, the worthy winners were declared for the 15 award categories. It turned out to be Dura Automotive’s dream night – the company not only won the trophy as overall Manufacturer of the Year but also the People & Skills, World Class Manufacturing, and Sustainable Manufacturing accolades.
Trophies demand exceptional degree of colour accuracy
Special EFX produced The Manufacturer MX 2016 bespoke trophies, which required precision digital printing: different colour-matched artwork for each one. This attention to detail was much appreciated by the customer: “I just wanted to say a big thank you for your hard work on the trophies. We really appreciate the time you took to test print and get them right. They looked great!”
