Leading lights and supporters of the LGBT+ community flocked to the Attitude Awards 2018. Held 11th October at the Camden Roundhouse and hosted by Andy Cohen, the high-profile event is an intoxicating mix of recognition, ‘show biz’ gossip and style with a capital ‘S’. Since its inception in 2012, the event has always attracted a host of celebrities, and this year saw the likes of Ricky Martin, Boy George and Jess Glynne all honoured and presented with the glitzy ‘a’ for Attitude trophies, produced once again by Special EFX.
Solid aluminium ‘a’ styled Attitude awards
The trophies are strikingly simple in their design – a free-standing letter ‘a’. Produced from solid aluminium and coated in an anodised finish of gold or silver, the trophies ooze style.
The Event Director reported: “We are very happy for Special EFX to supply our Attitude Awards trophies. Nothing is too much trouble, especially when we require last minute changes! They always arrive on time and to the highest quality.”
They may well have won many awards in their careers to date but winning an ‘a’ trophy carries a certain kudos that all the winners clearly covet.
The Attitude Awards are all about honouring those who inspire, influence, make change and help improve the lives of the LGBT+ community. Amongst those in the limelight this year were singer, actor and author Ricky Martin, whose name was laser engraved on the gold Legend Award. Others honoured with silver ‘a’ trophies include the figure skater Adam Rippon (Sport Award), Boy George and Culture Club (Music Icons), Jess Glynne (Music Award) and Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine Edward Enninful (Man of the Year).
Sponsored by Virgin Holidays since it first started back in 2012, the event is also supported by Jaguar. Intimate interviews with some of the winners conducted in the back seat of Attitude’s luxurious Jaguar, reveal personal insights that make compelling headlines.
